We are almost finished with the basketball game schedule. We will have the times posted by tomorrow. First games will be this Saturday (Jan 18).

We will be holding an OPEN GYM for KYA basketball players. This open gym will be available for both girls and boys KYA players. Sorry little tikes, the hoops will be set at 10 feet. Please wear clean gym shoes and bring your own ball. This is not a mandatory practice. This is just an opportunity to get the kids out of the house and to get in some gym time. The teams are close to being set. We are just in need of 6 more 3rd/4th Grade Coaches and 2 more 5th/6th Grade Coaches to Volunteer. As soon as we get the Coaches, the teams will be officially set. Please contact KYA if you are willing to step up and Coach. Thanks!!!
The final day to sign up for Boys Basketball will be on Tuesday December 17 at the Middle School Gym from 5:30p-7:30p.
The final games for Girls basketball will be this Saturday at the LA Thomas (December 14, 2019). All players will receive their KYA basketball t-shirts on Saturday. Please leave your game bags on the stage after your game. Please make sure all jerseys and balls are in it.
8am – Wings vs Liberty (3rd/4th Graders)
9am – Dream vs Mystics (5th/6th Graders)
10am – Fever vs Liberty (5th/6th Graders)
11am – Stars vs Winner of 10am Game (5th/6th Graders)
12pm – Stars vs Suns (3rd/4th Graders)
1pm – Lynx vs Winner of 12pm Game (3rd/4th Graders)

Boys Basketball is Starting Soon!
Since we are starting a new year, we will need everyone to do an onsite registration in order for everyone to fill out and sign a new liability waiver for 2020. So, there will NOT be online registration available this time (sorry). We will offer 2 days to come in and register. If you cannot make it to register on December 10 or December 12, please contact Jesse Clark.
December 10th (Tuesday) 5:30p-7:30p @ LA Thomas Foyer
December 12th (Thursday) 5:30p-7:30p @ LA Thomas Foyer
Observations will be held at the Middle School Gym on December 17 (Tuesday)
1st/2nd Grade (There will NOT be an observation)
3rd/4th Grade: 5:30p-6:15p (coaches will draft at 6:15p)
5th/6th Grade: 7p-7:45p (coaches will draft at 7:45p)
If you are wanting to Coach, please contact Jesse ASAP. If you are coaching 3/4 or 5/6 Grade teams, You will pick your teams immediately after the Observation Practice.
Cost is $25 for 1st-2nd grade.
Cost is $35 for 3rd-6th grade.
First Week of Practice will start the week of January 6th. Each player will get a t-shirt to keep. 1st/2nd Grade teams will play 4 games. 3rd/4th Grade and 5th/6th Grade will play 6 games. 3rd/4th Grade League and 5th/6th Grade League will have a championship game on final day of games.

KYA is collecting donations to provide meals for some families in need this Thanksgiving Season! If you are able to donate to this great cause please bring donations to your KYA Games this Saturday (11/23) there will be a cooler at each gym to place turkeys in. Middle School (8am-1pm) and Stricker (8am-noon).

I think we have all done a pretty good job so far this basketball season treating the school facilities with respect. Thank you all for your efforts! Let's continue to make sure players and siblings do not play in the foyers or run the school hallways. If you see some trash on the ground, please throw it away. Let's do our part in keeping the restrooms clean. It is important to leave the school in better shape when we leave than when we arrive. It is up to us.
